The power of Photoshop

During this Christmas holiday, I spent some time trying to edit some of my photos using Adobe Photoshop. I was lucky that Gray had showed some of the basic post production skills 2 weeks ago. Gray is very talented in photo editing. Although I can't remember all that he taught but I'm slowly trying to understand more photoshop skills. Photoshop is really a powerful tool for all photographers. Thank you, Gray & Kate. Merry Christmas & Happy 2010.

New SB-900 Speedlite

My speedlite arrived by poslaju this afternoon. The main purpose I bought SB-900 is because of Nikon CLS lighting. I was impressed by Nikonian Academy during my photo trip to Vietnam last June. It's a big flash and I think it worth the money. I still need more time to practice and master it.

Happy National Day, MALAYSIA

Today is our national day celebration holiday. I woke up 7am. After reading newspapers, I found it boring. Then I grabbed my camera to shoot my dogs at the backyard. The photos below are my Golden retriever and little toy dog. Lucky is the most obedient among the 5 dogs that I adopted.

In the afternoon, I went to Sing Kwong Supermarket to buy some household utensils. On the way back, I felt hungry and stopped over the malay ramadan food stalls at the town square. I like malay foods. There were many variety of foods served from roti canai to grilled chicken. It was interesting that some of the hawkers tended to be camera shy when they saw me carrying a DSLR. Actually, we can easily make friends with them by chatting and sharing the photos taken with them. I found it socialable to be a photographer. The guy below was selling fried potatoes to us.

A lovely malay girl was so happy to pose with a smile. Maybe, she thought her face will appear in newspaper soon. Thank you, amoi! Anyway, it's more fun as photographer than other hobbyist. We can take photos anywhere, anytime and anything.

Hanoi Trip by Nikonian Academy 08-13 Jul 2009

Dr Mark Tan was my classmate for Form 1 to Form 3 in SMB Sacred Heart, Sibu. After leaving secondary school in 1986, we never met each other. He was waiting for me in LCCT when I arrived the airport almost midnight on 08/07/2009. We headed to Hanoi together after a brief stay at Tune Hotel near airport. Because of our passion and devotion in photography, we decided to join this photo trip to Vietnam organized by Nikonian Academy together. I learned focusing, metering , lighting and other camera settings beside having lots of fun with the buddies in Hanoi. It was so hot and humid for July in Hanoi. Even malaysians cannot cope with it. We shoot tons of photographs. Vietnamese are generally more friendly than chinese. Although it's dirty too but at least they don't simply spit. Walking across the noisy and busy streets was a new experience. We ate Vietnamese noodle and coffee everyday. I just love the foods.

Bukit Lima Park

I went to jogging at Bukit Lima Park this evening. It was beautiful and nice sunset scenery. I took out my DSLR and took some of the photos.

Quiet Afternoon in Rejang Park

Rejang Park is very quiet in the afternoon. I brought Denis there to eat noodle soup at Today Coffee Shop. The worker above was arranging table to get ready for business at night.

Learn to shoot in M mode for D90

I tried to learn shooting in M mode for my D90 today. Actually, it's not too difficult as I thought. I grabbed my camera and went to Taman Bukit Aup hill top to shot this series of sunset. When the sky was getting dark, a lot of mosquitoes were sucking around. But, it's worth after seeing so many wonderful photos taken.
